Combining the expertise and experience of medical specialists improves the quality of treatment, ensures patient safety and reduces the potential of medical errors. During this course various clinical situations will be analyzed in order to find best ways to apply mini-screws most effectively. There will be discussions about the most common complications and how to avoid them.

Surgical and orthodontic aspects will be discussed during the course:

  • Philosophy and biomechanical aspects of mini-screws.
  • Safe zones and unsafe anatomical areas when planning the use of mini-screws.
  • Clinical and radiological preparation for mini-screw insertion.
  • Use of interdental, palatal, and aligner mini-screws.
  • Threading of mini-screws in models corresponding to real clinical situations.
  • Model-threaded mini-screw loading systems: clinical application of elastic chains or brace segments.

The number of places is limited.

Dr. Robertas Kirlys

Dr. Robertas Kirlys

Dr. Robertas Kirlys is a specialist in orthodontics and prosthodontics working at one of the biggest private clinics in Lithuania. Dr. Kirlys guides a number of lectures on aligner therapy in the Baltics helping doctors to successfully start with aligners and advance the range of treatment further.

Dr. Saulius Žukauskas

Dr. Saulius Žukauskas

Dr. Saulius Žukauskas completed master's studies in dentistry in 2015 at the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences. This year he also did an internship in the clinic of the Vilnius Implantology Center. In 2018 Saulius completed oral surgery residency at Vilnius University. During 2016-2020 he was Doctoral student of Vilnius University. During 2015-2019 he worked at VŠĮ Vilnius University Hospital Žalgiris clinic in the consultation polyclinic, Oral surgery and pathology sub-department. In 2017 he did an intership at San Carlos University Hospital in Madrid, Spain. PhD thesis defended in September of 2021.  Saulius is member of the Lithuanian Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, member of the European Academy of Osseointegration, member of the Association of Maxillofacial and Plastic Surgeons of the Baltic States.
